Oh… great action shot!
Thanks – I just wanted to try something different. It’s fun on a digital camera because you get to see the result straight away!
Nice shot! Are you a train spotter?
Not in the sense of going out train-spotting for its own sake, maybe, but trains, and locomotives in particular, fascinate me! Thanks for stopping by.
Like that – very popular with my boy too.
Kids from one to ninety-three…
Speeeeeeeed! Love it x
It looks faster than it actually was! I needed a not-too-fast one to practise on!
That’s really good – the contrast of the moving train and the stationary background is really well done 🙂
Thanks – I’ve not tried this for a long time – I shall experiment some more now.
ohh great motion shot! makes me want to go try and capture one too
Try it. You need: a footbridge (or similar vantage point) over a busyish railway line, an evening, and a camera that can use a slow shutter speed. Evening really is a fantastic time for photography.
My eldest (5yrs!) is a huge train fan and we have spent many happy hours in the National Railway Museum at York. he has finally converted me and I am as much a train tart as he is. Fantastic picture!
Thanks – and right enough, there is something addictive about everything to do with railways and their history!
I totally just went ‘buuuuuh-nuhhh’ in my head (that’s a train noise, btw) (like a train horn, not the noise it makes going along) (is it called a train horn?) (I’ll shut up now)
Yes a horn, although trackside signs usually display ‘W’ (whistle.) Quaint, isn’t it? But that twin tone is well-known to me…
ooh what a great picture. You have captured the moment perfectly. Love it x
